Health, Childcare & Teaching
Faiza was referred to the centre by her sister who had previously completed the Level 3 supporting teaching and learning qualification at the centre.
She enrolled on the Level 3 TA and made use of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) qualifications such as food award, safeguarding, first aid and dyslexia. On completion she got a job as a teaching assistant.
She progressed to the Level 4 advanced practitioner qualification which she achieved and completed another CPD on mental health. She is currently at the Westminster University studying Education and hopes to become a fully qualified school teacher.
The course has been an amazing experience. It felt like going to a second home. It was like a family unit. The learning was just flowing. I felt supported, it was amazing.
My dream was always to become a teacher, so I knew that would be a step closer to going to university and doing a degree. My sister who did a course before that, said to me that the Macbeth centre do teaching assistant classes, so I was more than happy to enrol and do the course. That helped push me closer to my goal.
The course has been an amazing experience. It felt like going to a second home. It was like a family unit. The learning was just flowing. I felt supported, it was amazing. It has helped me land a job working in a primary school setting and being a teacher. So, the whole experience was such an amazing one.
My next step is I am going to do an early years child education degree at university.
I would say anybody who is willing to take the step, or look into becoming a childcare and teaching assistant, the Macbeth centre is the place to be. Because they make you feel welcome and supported.
