The Simple 24 Yang Style Tai Chi Quan Form for Improvers aims to build upon participants' existing knowledge and experience in Tai Chi. This condensed and accessible course will cover the beginning sequence of 24 simplified and graceful movements, focusing on refining techniques and deepening the understanding of balance, harmony, and the circulation of vital energy ("Qi"). Through step-by-step instruction and guided practice, participants will enhance their skills and further embrace the flowing nature of this beautiful art form.
The Improvers class is suitable for individuals with some prior experience in Tai Chi, making it ideal for those who have completed the beginners' course or have a basic understanding of Tai Chi principles. Whether you have previously practised the Simple 24 Yang Style Tai Chi Quan Form or have experience in other Tai Chi styles, this class welcomes anyone looking to advance their practice and continue their journey towards improved physical and mental well-being.
No specific skills, knowledge, or prior experience are required. However, participants should have a basic understanding of Tai Chi or have completed the beginners' course.
By the end of the course, participants will have honed their proficiency in the beginning sequence of the Simple 24 Yang Style Tai Chi Quan Form. They will exhibit improved body alignment, fine motor control, and relaxation in their performance of the form. The course will be structured to refine the beginning sequence of the Simple 24 Yang Style Tai Chi Quan Form. Progress will be tracked against the course learning outcomes and personal targets. Self-assessment may also be encouraged. Normal Agewell costs apply. Please wear loose comfortable clothing and flat, flexible soled shoes that do not restrict ankle movement. Books may be recommended but there is no required reading. You may also be informed about Tai Chi events but will be under no obligation to attend. Please also bring water with you.
Help with literacy or numeracy is available through the basic education programme and the ESOL programme offers help for speakers of other languages. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Details are available from the ALSS course guide and from teaching or reception staff.
