What will the course Cover?

You will learn more about: Best buys: comparing prices, calculating discounts, and making informed financial choices. •Understanding percentages for discounts, price increases, and reductions. • Difference between simple and compound interest: understanding and applying both types of interest in simple terms. • Currency exchange: To convert between different currencies including pounds, dollars, euros, riyals etc. • Budget management: Planning a budget, cost management and risk management.

Who is this course for?

This course is you if you want to brush up your Maths knowledge and use Maths in budget planning and money management. It can help you to manage your money better which could help you with the cost of living crisis. All levels of Maths welcome to our fun, friendly class.

What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?

A basic knowledge of Mathematical concepts.

What should I be able to do by the end of the course?

You should have a better understanding of money management and feel more confient about dealing wth finances.

How is the course organised?

The course runs over 5 weeks with one teaching session per week. The sessions are taught in the Centre. The teaching sessions are accompanied by interactive fun activities in a collaborative learning environment.

What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?

The tutor will provide a list of useful websites where the learners can watch videos on Maths topics.

How will my progress be assessed?

Class discussions followed by questions and answers sessions.

What can I expect to go on to after this course?

Many of our learners progress to functional skills Maths courses after completing this course.

Are there any other costs and what do I need to bring?

You need to have access to a laptop and Internet connection. The tutor provides all additional material.
